How to adjust GMT versus local time?

I want to have a sale that stats at midnight local (Texas) time. I can't see anywhere to set up for a time zone for the "store". When I log into admin, the banner across the top shows the date/time as +0000GMT which is England I guess.

Then you're in luck. Texas time is two hours ahead of California. So make the changes at 10 pm your time.

Have a look at the "Time Zone Offset" in downloads->other modules

One of the 2 "optional" files can be used on its own to update the header in admin to show your time zone. This sets your servers & php time to your local time. Any php coding you do regarding date & time will work to your local time.

The other files don't need to be used unless you want fix the date & time used by mysql for the database.
