Zen Cart Shop Removed from Google

Hi,

Just inherited a zen cart site from a client. Previously they had someone who was meant to be doing some Search Engine Optimization for them but complications arose. The owners say it was once on Google etc but is no longer to be found there at all. It seems the site may have been black listed from google. My task is to update the site and resubmit it to google once it fulfills the google quality criteria etc. At the moment it doesnt - there seem to be a few reasons to me such as the meta tags being generated by zen cart to appear automated (thus like a robot - not something google wants) etc. Please can people take a look at the site and let me know what they think would have contributed to Google dropping the site from their listings so I can get some other opinions from experienced zenCart users (I haven't used this system before). I am not sure how you think it may have been dropped from google. It has the main page listed, if there was a shop before and the "old" pages were not redirected to the "new" pages there will be a gap in time while the old p[ages get dropped and eventually new pages will be added.

This is interesting - basically the site used to be just on https://www.drapersorganiccotton.com now it is on .co.uk too - at the same time. This is one of the things I have to sort out - the site invariably links to .com / .co.uk when browsing the site.

It is very strange thing to do - I am going to put it all on .co.uk and put a redirect from .com to the .co.uk

What do you guys think?

I would suggest setting it up to give a 301 redirect header. You really don't want search engines to think the site is duplicated at two different addresses which may be seen as duplicated content.

Create an account

Add your site

Then submit a reinclusion request explaining that you took over the site and was banned for some reason.

Any chance of having the Google payment integrate with USPS shipping ?
