Products Expected Date Question

I noticed in the Products Set up page there is a Date Available field. It would be really nice to add products ahead of time and have is so they are released at regular intervals. Is there a way for me to add my products in the database and set these future dates and have them NOT appear in the store until the date arrives?

I may have ten new products all ready to go for the next few weeks but don't want to have to set them up each week.

Thanks

Re: Products Expected Date Question

This could be customized to activate the product based on products_date_available similar to how the specials and featured products enable and disable themselves ...

This is not currently built into Zen Cart at this time ...

You would need to be careful that the auto products_status is "aware" of the stock, when the product is marked out of stock intentionally etc. ...

Re: Products Expected Date Question

Hi Linda,

Thanks. I sell a downloadable product if that matters. I wonder if you can put pending products in a hidden category? Then later just change categories when the expected date arrives. Just thinking out loud.
