Flat rate shipping and Skipping Shipping Step

I'm not sure if this is possible, but I would like to not give people options for shipping, but basically give them a flat rate of $2 for any order. So I have that working, but it leaves the shipping method boxes basically useless, and I would like to get rid of these extra boxes, but still keep the shipping costs. I know I can get rid of it if I do free shipping, but I don't to make shipping free.

Kim, if I understand the posted correctly, I believe the desire is after a customer clicks on checkout...instead of the next step being displaying the shipping option go directly to payment option since there is only one shipping option of flat rate at $2.00. Skip one screen and display payment option but include the $2.00 shipping charge.

Yeah, thats pretty much what I was thinking. I'm not sure that I need to skip that step completely as it verifies the shipping address, but to show those shipping boxes at the bottom is a little redundant. Sorry about the confusion.

Ok, found the file, (tpl_checkout_shipping_default.php), but when I simply try to comment out the part I don't want, it won't go to the next step. I'm not up on my php skills, so I'm having trouble following whats going on. Can anyone decode this for me?

What exactly are you trying to remove if you're not trying to skip that step. The ONLY option that should be shown on the shipping page is the only one that you've enabled from Admin-Module-Shipping. Are you saying you're seeing shipping options that you did not enable?

He wants to do the same as me.

As postage/shipping is alwats $2, step 1 of checkout is pointless.

We want to go straight to Step 2 - Payment.

Step 1 is NOT pointless - it allows the customer to change the delivery address...or are you only delivering to billing addresses? Even so, it still gives the customer the opportunity to check the shipping address is correct.
