Removing "New Products for ..." from Main Page

Removing "New Products for ..." from Main Page

I'm searching for ages for a way to change the settings of what appears in the main page entry, in the main area. By default, it's showing random products from the newest range entered.

Is there a way to replace it with pre-set products/pictures?
How do I control how they appear? I don't want to show prices on my entry page.

I was just looking for that also...

Here is how to disable it.
admin -> configuration -> index listing -> Show New Products on Main Page set to 0 (turn it off)

May I ask what you placed in the main area of the main page instead of new products? Did you place a picture, graphic element, text or nothing? Can I see your website (if it's "on air")? Mine is www.getkinky.com.au/bdsm_warehouse/

well...there was a problem to me...
i turned it off.... it didn't show on the main page..
it's fine.....

however, when i open a subcategory...
it's also off... i felt weird
cuz i didn't turn the subcategory' option off

i think my settings are okay...
but.....:no:

Had the exact same problem but sorted now. 15 seconds typing in Google and hey presto i found the answer. :cool:

If you go with the default /zencart is there a way you can rename it to "store"?

Hey -
I have been having the same problem ... I made "Show new products on main page" a 0 and the product I added is still on the main page.. What gives? I also made all of those options there zero's to try and fix the problem, but my first product entered is still on the main page of my store.

Any solutions?
