FAQ Module ?s

Hi all...

Ok, I just installed the FAQ module on the latest version of ZC. I have 2 questions that I can see immediately.

1. • Is there a way to call a page that brings people to a list of all the categories and then they can click on the category of interest? The reason I ask is that I would like the FAQ ability and functionality that this plugin brings, but I really don't want to have to add another sidebox to get it. I'd like to add a link with EZ pages so that it takes them to something like an index page categories and information. If I call the faqs_all file it brings up every question and no categories, and obviously calling faqs_new would make you lose out on not just the categories but older questions as well.
2. • For some reason when you look at the pages, the submit button isn't showing up. When you right click on it and get the properties it's trying to call this "...../includes/templates/template_default/buttons/english/BUTTON_IMAGE_SUBMIT_FAQ". It doesn't even appear to be calling the button_ask_a_question.gif that it should be.

as for the first, I dont know.
for the button there is a file for defining the buttons and for the life of me I cant remember where it is right now,

I never could get my submit button to show up. I tried every single suggestion and could not get it to work. This module is one of the most frustrating (apart from the SEO module.)

I'm still surprised no one ever figured out the problem. I had to uninstall the FAQ module, wasted about 3 days on the whole thing. I love Zen Cart but some of the modules are more headache than they are worth and the lack of help on this particular module is even more of a headache.

Open includes/languages/extra_definitions/faq_manager.php

Change:

define('BUTTON_IMAGE_SUBMIT_FAQ', 'button_ask_a_question.gif');

To:

define('BUTTON_IMAGE_SUBMIT_FAQ', 'button_submit_faq.gif');

Using this Module [http://www.zen-cart.com/index.php?main_page=product_contrib_info&cPath=40_47&products_id=329], and following the steps to install... when I turn on the box, it makes my site not show up below the EZ page top navigation banner. it is like the page does not load the rest of the html after that.

Any thoughts? I am fairly a newbie to zen cart, so any patient help is requested. THANKS!

So sorry... I fixed it so long ago, I don't remember what I did... but I think it was a silly mistake of mine. Keep trying! You'll get it.

I wish I knew more about modifying pages because I think what I want is an easy fix.

For some reason, (and there might be a good one) in the Admin for the FAQ sidebox module you cannot choose "Category" as the default sort order for the FAQ page. It skips right over it!

Unfortunately, I think that is the one that looks the best, but I cannot figure out how to make it selectable by modifying the code.

Does anyone know how to change the php in the Admin side of the FAQ module so that I can make "Category" the default sort order for all pages?

I am sure that this is a defunked mod... just installed it and nothing shows in admin on the latest Zen. Will spend tomorow removing the instalation.

I tried to install and it messed up the top of my category pages. Looks like a good mod if I could install it :o(

Can anyone please help me?
I installed the FAQ module and there seems to be no errors. But when I submit a question and answer it, the final result doesn't show up neither in All Faqs nor in New Faqs. All posts have an active status.
What can be wrong here?

Did you find a fix for this? I'm having the same problem. It seems that the FAQ Module is posting all my questions 3 times. I have 3 languages installed so I'm assuming its related to that.
