Copying Global Attribute Image

There is an option for copying attributes to all products from Global Settings.

This is kind of incomplete without the feature of copying the corresponding attribute image.

If I add 1 attribute value to 50 products, I still have to paste each attribute image manually, or there is a way ?

While this is not an option at this time, if could be customize for this ...

There are several things to consider before making this something usable by everyone ...

Not all Products' Color Red is the same color red ... so it can get a bit dicey ...

You can also update the products_attributes table for the attributes_image field based on options_id and options_values_id ...

NOTE: be sure to backup your database and website before attempting any of these changes ...

What if all products want the same red?

I think it should provide an option to add a new attribute to all the prodcuts without adding it from "Attributes Controler" one by one!

Have you got any plan to do this? Object Oriented products management, which means if one product belongs to a category, it should inherit all the attributes from that category, then this will be much easier to add products...

Yes, this is exactly in our case.

We use the same color for all attributes values, (say we have 50 colors , we number them)

Ajeh, can you please just give a structure of a module to do this easily , for category wise insertion as well as insertion of images to attribute values for individual products.

We will then get this module developed for us.

As you are the best person to speak about Attributes of ZenCart, I would really like your advice on this one.

P.S: 50 colors for 50 desings, so this gives us 2500 option values to manage, this cannot be really done manually, probably can remove them manually using global options, but addittion of images is not possible.

Perhaps you can look at the existing code and see what all is missing and would need to be changed to do this for your specific needs in the meanwhile ... and then add it as a contribution ... thanks :smile:
