zen cart not processing paypal orders.

Hi all!

I thought I had everything set up perfectly... but now it comes time to test before we go live and it seems that zen cart is not automatically processing paypal orders for some customers.

Our web host set up the paypal sandbox to test it all and it works perfectly for him in that he pays and gets redirected to our 'check out success page' with his download links (all virtual products) .

But when I test it out it redirects me to the check out success page but I don't get any links at all. When testing it with normal paypal my test customer was redirected to the check out success page but the purchase was set to pending and I had to manually process it so that she got access to her download links.

If it means anything may paypal account is an Australian one as is my test customer's account but our web host's account is a US one.... he thought that might make a difference somehow?

Anyone know what we have done to break it? And how we can get the paypal payments to automatically process and send people back to the page with their download links?

in your paypal module settings in zen make sure that you have the status set to at least processing but I think delivered is better

Ok at the risk of seeming like a total nuffy (which I am!)

Which bit needs to be set to processing or delievered?

this is what I have...

Set Pending Notification Status
'Pending'

Set Order Status
'Processing'

Set Refund Order Status
'Pending'

When you do a test,
do you get an order number when you return to checkout succes

I am also testing using Paypal Sandbox, no order is stored in zencart.
I do not receive a order number when I am returned to my zencart site.
Has anybody tested sucessfully using paypal sandbox.
checked identitical email used in zencart and payapal
turned IPN on in payapal.
reinstalled paypal module.
Running zencart 1.3

Links work fine, I log into sandbox then open the zencart, process a order, redirect to paypal sandbox account. sandbox sends dummy emails from paypal only. redirected to zencart confimation page with thank you note and no order number given. No order records stored in zencart.

try testing live,
sandbox dosnt work 1/2 the time,

zen carts return url isnt to checkout_success its to checkout_process
and 1.3 dosnt have a sandbox option
if this is an upgrade try uninstalling the paypal module in admin then re-installing it

There's a bug.... If your customer is shopping on your site using a currency OTHER THAN the one you have your Zen Cart paypal currency settings restricted to, it will reject the IPN.

Working on an update and testing...

Worked with Real Paypal account.
When I tested zencart shop using the real paypal account it worked fine.

As advised in forums I set up a free shipping option for a porduct priced it 0.01. (admin set Module->shipping->FreeShipping to on, set free option on for 1 product)
Got a friend to purchase the item and the transaction was complete with order number ect returned. Not sure if paypal will let me off the charge or maybe my fortune so far is now worth -0.30cent.

Paypal Sandbox is limited in testing. dummy email accounts, IPN not returned in my case. So take the nervous step, test with real paypal account before crying.

Been getting orders coming through with Paypal payments all working fine for UK customers and a guy who paid from France. But someone has just paid from the US and nothing is coming up in Zencart - no idea what he's bought :0

My question is, I see that there is a bug but if I change the Transaction Currency to Selected Currency, will this make it so I can see the orders in Zencart? I don't mind accepting other currencies for now ;)

Exactly. The transaction can always be refunded, with no service-charge penalties.

I just setup a zencart site for someone in the US. I tried doing a test order but when paypal returns to zencart, there is no order number and no orders show up in admin. Also no confirmation email is sent. I have tried with status set to delivered and processed and also with currency set to US and selected currency. I was ordering from Australia. My client is getting the same problem when ordering from the US.

I forgot to mention, I'm using zencart v1.3.0.2
