Product Attribute Help Needed Please

Hiya,

I have just worked out how to add attributes now, (after about 2 months..lol) pheww, hope I remember how I did it, but I wanted the following options on quite a few designs, and somehow I dont think Ive done something right. I have designed some pictures that can be made into 3 differernt sized keyrings and fridge magnets, each has 3 different skin tones, and then I wanted the option to do free personalisation on the products too.

So I wanted the following 3 choices available to the customer.

1. Choice of skintone - light - medium - dark
2. Choice of 3 different sized keyrings and fridge magnets at different prices
3. Some kind of box, where a customer could add personalised names etc

But for some reason when I look at the product page, it doesnt look like I want it too, I have attached a screen print, as its easier than trying to explain.

Number 1 I didnt want a price here, as when I added different gifts, they had their own pries too, and when I say add the image to the shopping cart, it adds £2.99 onto the total price. and when I remove the price from the product description, I am just left with Starting at: which doesnt look right.

Number 2 This says to + £2.99 etc, is that right?

I hope I have explained myself properly, as it is quite hard to explain. If not I apologise to you all, and will try better next time :thumbsup:

If you are using Priced By Attribute ... usually you do not use the + on the Attribute Price as the Attribute Price is the price of the Product ...

The starting at is because the Product has several prices, with the lowest being the Starting At ...

You can turn off the Starting At in the individual Catalog ... Product Types ... Edit Layout ...

Thanks for that, I have now turned it off.

I have removed the price in the edit product part, so it doesnt show at the top any more, and then there are 3 options at the bottom to choose from (I have attached a piccy for you to see, is this the best way to set this up.

Also I would like some kind of text box at the bottom so that if they want to add personalised names etc for free they can.

I have tried to set procuct prices by attributes, but am at a loss how to do it, I did look on the forum, but didnt see anything that applied to this situation.

I wanted it so that all my designs on small keyrings are £2.99, large ones £3.99 and fridge magnets are £3.99, and personalisation with words is free,

but personalised ones (ie with their own photo) would be £3.99 for small keyring, £4.99 for a large keyring or fridge magnet, but am not sure how to set up these choices.

:thumbsup: Yehayyy, I have now sussed out how to do the attributes, but still need to know how I get a box so that a customer can add a personalised name or message on the gifts.

Create an option in option name manager of type "Text."
Go to Attributes Controller and add that to your product. Remember
the option value is "TEXT [RESERVED FOR TEXT/FILES ONLY ATTRIBUTES]
