Strange Override problem of English.php

When I changed my english.php to define('CHARSET', 'utf-8'); in include/language/my_template/english.php, I can see other language format well in english environment, such as the record in chinese words in My Account's history. However, When I changed my english.php to define('CHARSET', 'utf-8'); in admin/include/language/my_template/english.php, I can't see other language format in Admin english environment. To solve it, I have to override the original english.php directly in admin/include/language/english.php........No override function in Admin control but work well in control of front website.

Any file I can copy from my source Zen Cart to fix the override problem for my admin control?

Re: Strange Override problem of English.php

You need to change the charset for the admin separately. Look at admin/includes/languages/english.php. Look for another CHARSET define in there.

Re: Strange Override problem of English.php

Thanks for your reply, BlindSide. Maybe not clear for my previous description:

I changed the define('CHARSET', 'utf-8'); in two files:

  1. admin/includes/languages/my_template/english.php
  2. includes/languages/my_template/english.php

Only "2" is working for override (I can see other language characters), "1" isn't worked in admin. However, when I changed the define('CHARSET', 'utf-8'); in
admin/includes/languages/english.php

It's worked and I can see other language characters in Admin.
That's why I think a file or some may collapse so that the override function only work for front website, not for admin. Any idea what files can be fixed for this problem?

Re: Strange Override problem of English.php

admin/includes/languages/my_template/english.php
this is an invalid filepath
there is no template setup in the admin
admin/includes/languages/english.php is the correct path

Re: Strange Override problem of English.php

Thanks, Merlin. Now I know no template folder can work under admin folder.

Thank you very much.
