PHP Version for older versions of Zen Cart

Sorry I couldn't find this info.

My hosts are upgrading to PHP 5 and I have a number of zen cart shops that are on older x1.2 versions, does anyone have these versions running under PHP 5?

I know that there is a line that needs changing in the latest version (list that thread with the details will search and report them here)

Just trying to preempt any issues.

The shops will be upgraded to latest version but with teh new CSS only layout its not a simple thing at present

Versions of Zen Cart prior to v1.3 are compatible with PHP 4.2 through PHP 4.4.x
Zen Cart v1.3 is compatible with PHP 4.3.2 through PHP 4.4.x.

While there has been a lot of development and testing and live-use of Zen Cart on PHP 5.x, there is no official certification at the present time.

That said, you most likely will not have many problems using PHP 5 with Zen Cart. Be sure to TEST TEST TEST all aspects of shopping etc after conversion.

MySQL 5 is another story.... best to stay with MySQL 4 at present...

A more updated question to this now that PHP5 support is nearing.....will v1.3.7.1/8 run under PHP5 (but obviously not take advantage of the new features in v.5)?

Looks like my host is upgrading soon to v.5, possibly w/o support for PHP4 after they upgrade, so kinda worried if the current Zen doesn't run under v.5.....:cry:

Devs announced that 1.4 will require php 5

merlinpa, understood...I did see the dev announcement, but since my host is going to php5 in the next month or so (possibly w/o support for php4), will my current version of zen (1.3.7.1) run under php5, since 1.4 is not due until next year?

Yes 1.3.7 works with php5 and mysql5

thats what we run or are switching to on November 1st

there are a few issus under PHP 5 I am sure that I have listed them on the forum - will look as its a quick fix to get them working :)

WE have not seen any issues with 1.3.7 and php5 and its running on multiple servers,
