Footer-gibberish

I'm trying to move my Privacy Policy, Returns, Terms of Use and Contact to the footer for my store ( http://www.whiskeybarrelsaloon.net/store ) and I'm not really sure where to slide the links in. I want to get everything just above the "Copyright © 2003-2006 Zen Cart. Powered by Zen Cart". That way I have a bit more space to put a few other things that I've been wanting to tinker around with...

... up there.

That last sentence didn't make much sense, did it?

Anyway:

This is a copy of the includes/templates/cmy_template/common/tpl_footer.php:

<?php

      </tr>
    </table>
  </td></tr>
<?php
} // flag_disable_footer

</table>

Or do I even have the right file?

Re: Footer-gibberish

This is the right file and it isn't. I would recommend against changing code to achieve this. Instead you could use the EZ-Page functionality (Admin > Tools > EZ-Pages).

There is a feature within EZ-Pages called internal URL. Basically you just say define a new page for each link. In doing so you say yes to footer, provide a non-zero sort order value, leave the HTML box empty and provide a link to an internal page, and the link to your page will turn up in the EZ-Pages footer menu, exactly where you described you wanted it to appear.

Re: Footer-gibberish

Hawt diggity! That worked perfectly!

Normally I avoid things that say "EZ" like the plague due to overt campy-ness and lack of anything easy about them, but this is great!

Thank you very much! I'd send cookies, but my Wife (notice the capital. oh yean!) won't let me near the stove.

Re: Footer-gibberish

I didn't get them at first either, and yes in part that was because of the name. I don't think we're alone either. I suspect that few people have yet cottoned on to just how useful this function can be.

Re: Footer-gibberish

Last question about the glory that is EZ-paages: How do I rename the title of the sidebox from "Important Links" to something else? I've looked in the english.php file and I don't find it. Is it under another name (or knowing my luck, another file)?

Re: Footer-gibberish

The quick way to find things in Zen Cart.

Open your Admin> Tools> Developers Tool Kit> Ent the term you want to find in the box on the lower left- Choose All Files, click go. :smile:

Re: Footer-gibberish

Tig,
When you do make it functional, you might want to make the link in your sig functional as well. That would be wondermus:D
