PayPal module passing blank value to PayPal

Hi,

I'm currently having mega problems passing an order via Zen Cart to PayPal.

I'm convinced everything is OK at PayPals end (IPN and auto-return enabled).

I enter the correct email in the PayPal Module, but everytime a test order leaves the checkout and goes to PayPal, all I get is a blank box for the amount of the purchase.

Having done a search, I noticed others have had this problem, but could'nt find a definitive reason for this occuring.

If it makes any difference, all other payment methods, leaving PayPal as the only payment method.

Any ideas? I'm stumped.

Rgds
Neil.

Re: PayPal module passing blank value to PayPal

Would have to see this in action to know what's causing it.

Re: PayPal module passing blank value to PayPal

I did figure this one out.

It was a Currency problem.

All currencies were removed, expect GBP, and this caused it to behave strangely. I could only get it working with USD, but changed this to £ to get it working,

Big mistake. Paypal was expecting pounds, but it was being sent amounts in dollars.

Only when I removed the currencies, added sterling as sterling, added dollars as dollars, synced the exchange rate, then removed USD, did it start working and send the correct data to Paypal.

Can you lead me through that slowly please! ie do you go to 'Admin' and remove all the currencies and add them back? What do you mean by 'add sterling as sterling'? Is synching the exchange rate just setting the rate?

Thanks Neil

Re: PayPal module passing blank value to PayPal

I just fixed this problem on my site.
Make sure you are using the correct code for the currency you are using (google 'currency codes' to find out).
Then use update exchange rates in admin/localisation/currencies.
After this when I went to check in the store all my prices came up as 0.
I think because I had to change the code I was using as it was wrong.
Anyway cleared my browser cache and cookies and all was fine.
Checked paypal and the correct amout was passed.
Hope this helps.
