remove shipping options from certain products

Hi all

I would like to remove all shipping options from certain products, sounds easy but from previous posts it looks like I need to play around with the free shipping module and also make some coding amendments

Can anyone help me with this?

Perhaps if you expanded on what you want to do once the Shipping is removed it would help us know what you are trying to accomplish by not having Shipping on certain products ...

Sorry Ajeh, not enought detail eh.....

I dont want to offer shipping on fragile items (such as fishing rods) but DO want them to have a presence on my site, therefore I thought that if i can remove the shipping option on fishing rods (therefore allowing customers to ONLY collect from the store) then this will solve my problem.

Please advice if you have any alternative suggestions

What should happen on a mixed order of fragile and non-fragile?

Well I would imagine that appropriate shipping costs would be applied to the non-fragile item and the fragile item will be set to 'collect from store' with no shipping applied

Customer would pay for order in the usual way, shiipping item will be sent and non-shipping item will be reserved in-store for collection

Have you considered adding 0 weight to the fragile so there are no shipping charges and add an attribute that says:

Shipping:
Please agree to terms below (mark as Display Only, Default)
I will Pick Up this item from the store

Or something to that extent?

This would place it in the Shopping Cart and on the Order with those words attached ...

Thats an option I will try this evening and report back tomorrow
