how to insert zen cart in a previously created page help

My objective is to maintain the same design for my internet site, so i have most of it done however i haven´t been able to insert zen cart into my design. What i want is to have the begginning of the page with my logo and links to my other pages there as i´ve done throughout my site and zen cart beggining after that, that way my site will have the same design in every page. I would apreciate your help with this problem thank you.

Zen Cart doesn't work that way- You will want to take your design and add it to Zen Cart using the Custom Template Override system. See this FAQ section: http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/faq.php?faq=catalog_issues#faq_template_customize

You can keep your current site, with an index.html page.
Customise your site design to a zencart template then install your cart,
which has index.php as its main page. Link to that index.php(zencart)
via your current index.html page

Re: how to insert zen cart in a previously created page help

What you should do is make Zen-Cart look like the rest of your site, by putting the "beginning of your page with logo and links to my other pages" into the header (includes/templates/YOURTEMPLATE/common/tpl_header.php) as per the instructions in the link provided by Kim.

If you have installed Zen-Cart in a subdirectory (recommended if you have other, non-store areas of your site), make sure you code the links to the rest of your site accordingly. Also keep in mind that these links should point to the non-secure area of your site, as sometimes the store will be in secure mode.
