move description in all products listing?

I cannot for the life of me figure out how to move the product description in the "view all products" listing. Any help would be appreciated.

It just looks messy when the description doesn't stay in the column and "invades" the space under the image like what I have...

No, I still haven't been able to figure out how to do this in the "view all products" listing. I did install the column grid layout mod for the product listing, but the all products page still looks the same.

I want to move the item description to the right of the photo, directly underneath the item name.

Any help would be appreciated.

Aha! I did figure it out. It's in tpl_modules_products_all_listing.php

you didn't ask, but do you realize your all products page is over 880KB...

suggest you look into image optimization - image handler contribution is pretty slick....

it was the Bella's site -

heck, the 'classic' stylesheets from v1.3.0.2 are over 20KB (another thing you might want to look into especially if you are selling your service - 'classic' should not be used as a template anymore, suggest searching forum)

Ok, that's wierd.. When I check the page info in FF it says it's only 23.26kb. I'm still going to install that image optimizer, I'm just wondering why it says that in my page info..? Wierd. Thanks.

I haven't actually... My item descriptions, when you view them through Manufacturers list or through Category, the description still flows over to the left margin of the image after 5 lines as you can see here:

View by Manufacturer

or

View Category List

I'd like the text to be Justified or Left aligned instead of center and I'd like the descriptions to stay withing the "Item Description" column, instead of wrapping underneath the image after 4 or 5 lines.

The files you need to edit are in ../includes/templates/templates_default/templates/

tpl_modules_products_all_listing.php is the view all products layout

Looks like you need to remove a table row.

Try finding this and remove it:

<tr>                 <td valign="top" class="main">
              <?php
                echo $display_products_description;
              ?>
            </td></tr>

Obviously I'm no expert, so edit at your own risk.

I'll save a copy and try your fix tonight :)
