Changing download folder location

Hello,
How do I change where the program finds my zip files for download products? I already have all the zips on my site in another folder (would take forever to move them all over) and still plan to have the many of the existing links to them left up. So I need to tell Zen cart to find downloads not in the download folder but in another folder on my site. How do I point it in the right direction?

If you have cpanel access to your host site try this.

you can use the file manager in cpanel and say if the current folder is under the root of your site and zencat is also at the root then the zen download folder is at the root aslo.

Rename the zen download folder to some other name. then rename the current folder that holds your files to download.

If these are not at the root, rename the zen dowload folder first then 'move' your folder with the files to the zen location.

As this is done on the server it is very fast when compared to ftp'ing down then up.

You could also do a copy folder and will be asked 'copy to where' and still on the server.

I need the files where they are do to the tons of links to them already in existance. Thanks for the suggestion, but moving all of those files just seems impossible, lol. I have tons of zips in that folder and to move them all to another fodler would take like days and I bet I would get a server time out more times then I care to think about. Just want to point the Cart that does not have much in it yet to the right place, that would be sooo much better. Might have to think of another plan though if I cant do that, I was duplicating for a while one at a time as added to the store but I am almost out of disk space with my host plan now.
