Newbie; can't access my Admin

I've read multiple posts on First Steps and Second Steps, etc. but I can't access my Admin to move forward!

Site: http://www.lisaspagnolo.com/zencart

I've installed zencart and have changed the chmode settings according to the instructions (through my FTP client), though can't access the store at all or add categories etc.

Please help!

Re: Newbie; can't access my Admin

You have setup your shop with what appears to be an invalid secure URL ...

The configure.php file that is on the server needs to be edited ...
/admin/includes/configure.php

You need to either:

1 put in the correct URL for your secure site

2 turn off the secure certificate until you get that fixed

Setting both Enables to false will turn it off until you find your correct secure URL ...

You will also need to do this for the Catalog as well ...
/includes/configure.php

NOTE: these two files, while they have the same name, are different and cannot be mixed up ... as in you cannot mix up which one you put where ...

Re: Newbie; can't access my Admin

I purchased an SSL folder for my site through Webmasters.com and have updated both the admin/includes/configure.php and the includes/configure.php to have the correct secure URL.

I still can't login to my Admin though...(it is: https://www.lisaspagnolo.com/zencart/admin...right?)

Re: Newbie; can't access my Admin

You have typos in both of your configure.php files so you have errors so the pages cannot run ...

If you could post. from your server, your files:
/includes/configure.php
/admin/includes/configure.php

without the username and password ... we could help you out on this ...

Either your hosting site did not set up the secure certificate correctly or you have typos in the files and it cannot be used correctly ...

As I cannot get to your domain via the secure URL:
https://www.lisaspagnolo.com

I'd say either that is not it ... or your hosting site did not configure it right or something ...

Re: Newbie; can't access my Admin

what'd ya say I just uninstall zencart, then install it again now that I know my secure URL. for some reason, on my server in the admin directory I no longer see "configure.php", I only see "configuration.php"...though I just downloaded a copy of configure.php onto my desktop a minute ago to edit it...

i'm so confused. can i just reinstall it right quick and see if that works??

Re: Newbie; can't access my Admin

I just accessed my SSL folder through my FTP client and there are no zencart files there. no wonder http://www.lisaspagnolo.com/zencart/admin returns a 404. i'm assuming that when i installed zencart through my host, i didn't reference my SSL folder correctly...what do you recommend? reinstall?

Re: Newbie; can't access my Admin

I would be pointing a finger at your host. We should be able to see something at https://www.lisaspagnola.com unless you maybe mistyped?

Re: Newbie; can't access my Admin

Now it's working and I can get to the cart but not the admin.

Just a small hint

When Ajeh says, "post whatever and let us look at it" I would send it special delivery Express priority.

You don't need to do a reload, you need to give us a copy of the admin/includes/configure.php and includes/configure.php WITHOUT username and password.

As Ajeh said, you probably have a typo in one of them. Most likely the admin.

See post #4 above.

Re: Newbie; can't access my Admin

You need to speak to your hosting site ...

You are saying you have a secure certificate ... that is not working ...

Your 2 configure.php files are showing a different secure URL and that is not working either ...

Because of this, things are not going to run right ...

Just email or call them and ask if they setup your secure certificate and what your secure URL is suppose to be ... then we can help get this fixed up ...

Also ask if you have 2 directories ... 1 for secure and 1 for non-secure or if it is all setup to 1 directory via a symbolic link ...

Re: Newbie; can't access my Admin

Thanks so much for your help! I really appreciate it...I'll buy you all a cup of coffee (or several) once this gets up and going...I've followed your instructions and emailed the support team at Webmasters.com asking them exactly what you said to ask...they're pretty good about responding quickly.

just to clarify though, originally I tried installing/using phpCart by Webmasters, but that was so complicated and the support team only gave me vague, redundant answers and didn't help me solve anything. so I am trying zencart, which so far I like a whole lot more...i'm sure i'll love it once i can access my Admin!

anyway, the phpCart required me to purchase an SSL folder (not certificate! that, apparently, is different), for which the address they gave me is: https://secured.com/~f3489/ ...what I'm supposed to do with that, I don't know. how it connects to my site, I don't know. if I need to cancel that though and purchase an SSL certificate instead in order to use zencart, i'll do that...just say the word.
