Sermon Preview

Hey guys. thanks for all the help on this forum first of all. I have my site working. You can purchase sermons either as dowloads or cd's. I have it linked to my linkpoint api to do cc processing. All good so far. Now, I want to add a sermon preview so that you can listen to a snippet of the sermon before buying it. Do you know how I can do that?

1. Create/Recreate the product as a "products-music" product-type (see the pulldown menu next to the New Product button).

2. Fill in all the information as necessary.

3. Admin->Extras->Media Manager

• add a new collection
• edit it and browse to upload media clips to the collection
• click the Assign to Product button to link the collection to the products which should show the preview links.

4. Go look at the product in your store, and you'll see the media clips available for preview.

It would be wise to use smaller MP3 files for your previews, perhaps 30 seconds in length, etc.

There are more settings you can change under the Extras menu that affect the pulldowns on the product-edit page under the Categories/Products menu when entering a product-music item. Experiment as you see fit.

I'm only running 1.2.6. Can I still do it on this version?

Yes - there weren't many changes to the music code for v1.3 ... although there was a bug or two fixed in the display of media collections if there was no media clip attached to said collection.
