Gift Certificates or Discount Coupons

I thought I'd be able to use gift certificates in my store, but as I'm trying to set it up it does not look to solve my problem.

Challenge:

Client has employees that they reward with a certificate for one item in the Values in Action "category".

The products aren't listed with a price, but I think we'll be making each one $25.

I simply want to provide those employees with a # that they use (already provided by the client) to redeem their Values in Action item.

In other words, the client provides the employee with a certificate good for one Values in Action item ($25 value). The employee comes to the store, browses the items and adds the desired item to their cart.

To pay, they simply need to enter the certificate number and poof...they get their item.

I though I could use a gift certificate, but that looks to be not the case as they gift certifcate must be purchased first...unless there is a way to load 4,500 gift certificates beforehand.

Any ideas?

Re: Gift Certificates or Discount Coupons

Use the Send Gift Certificate mode from the Admin.

Please do not PM for support issues: a private solution doesn't benefit the community.

Be careful with unsolicited advice via email or PM - Make sure the person you are talking to is a reliable source.

Re: Gift Certificates or Discount Coupons

That was my idiot post for the day.

I'm doing 100 things at once...and totally missed the coupon setup option!

I'm good to go in that respect.

But, this leads me to another question.

I have 4,500 discount coupons to create...can I use easy populate to do this?
