Only Show New Products On Index Page

Hi,

How can I configure the index listing so that new products are only displayed on the index page?

I don't want new products to be displayed on any other page.

Look under admin/configuration and all of the "Listing" settings.

There you can control where those center boxes show / don't show.

Sorry, I still can't figure this.

If I set "Show New Products on Main Page" to 0, nothing happens, the new products are still there.

If I set "Show New Products on Main Page - Category with SubCategories" to 0, this turns off all instances of where new products are displayed.

I have gone through the "Listing" settings, but there doesn't seem to be a switch to only display new products on the index page.

Do you have an URL to where you want to see the New Products vs an URL where you do not want to see the New Products?

I am currently developing locally, so I don't have a url for my actual site, but I have found an example on another site:

http://www.livedemo.com/scripts/zencart/

You can see new products on the home / index page. This is what I want...

...but I don't want them displayed on any other page, e.g.

http://www.designsamples.com/scripts/zencart/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=1

New products are listed under the subcategories icons.

Any help with this would be great.

You need to set in the Index Listing:

Show New Products on Main Page - Category with SubCategories
Show New Products on Main Page - Category with SubCategories
0= off or set the sort order

This turns off the New Products when in a Category with SubCategories ...

Note: make sure that you do not have Categories that have Products and Categories mixed in the same Category ...

Categories hold Categories or Products ... never both
