Duplicate orders with cc thru Paypal?

I've had a couple of instances now where customers have paid with their credit card through Paypal and the system is processing two orders.

One shows Paypal and the other cc. I'm not getting double payments in my Paypal account...but they're getting two order confirmations, both with download links.

What am I missing???

Do you have the credit cards module enabled, or any other payment mods for that matter?

I did, but it was set to False so it wasn't showing up as an option along with the Paypal.

It's only when they use the cc thru Paypal that it does this.

It is a good idea if not using a module to click Remove vs setting the enabled to false ...

Thank you, I went ahead and did that yesterday thinking that was the problem. But I can't get out of my thinking that it must be something in the Paypal IPN or my settings in Paypal that are causing this...?

I'm also having this issue. I had one person pay with a cc & the other paid with a money order. Then, between these orders, I had the one who paid with a money order make another order (with a money order as well) that went through alright.

I'm really confused. Anyone know what might be causing this issue?

This is an old thread but I am having the same problem. I use PP IPN, and every now other day or so, I get a duplicate order coming through. The money does not show up twice in Paypal. At first I thought it was for products that were linked, but then I saw that it happened with products only listed in one plce.

Ajeh, you suggested to remove the payment modules I'm not using? I went into Modules -> Payments and didn't see a way to remove the ones I'm not using (right now the only ones turned to "True" are "paypal" and "money order".

Do you mean I should remove via FTP?

I mean do not have any installed and just switched to false ... if you are not using a module ... click the Remove button ...

You do not need to remove the files via FTP ...

Also, upgrading to v1.3.7.1 is a good idea:

I'd remove all PayPal modules ... install both PayPal Modules ... remove both ... install the PayPal module you want to use and configure it ...

I do plan to upgrade very soon - thanks for the encouragement. I just have to read up on how to do it, etc.

When I am in Payment Modules in Admin, there is no remove button on the modules I'm not using. Just an "install" button. In other words, they are listed, but the only button that shows is "install". Does that mean that they aren't installed, then? And if so, I guess I don't need to remove anything? (although I still need to upgrade)

I am also having this problem. It is infrequent, but still there. I'm running 1.3.7 with the latest patch for PP. I have Money Order and PP IPN enabled. I know this is not much to go on. I have not upgraded to 1.3.7.1. Will this fix it? Or, is this just a precaution. Upgrading, for me, is difficult.

I would do the upgrade then uninstall the PayPal module ... install both, remove the one you do not need, and configure the one you are using ...

I'm having the same issue. I have 1.3.7.1 with Money Order and IPN with PDT token.

I would get a duplicate order on occasion. I thought it was from clicking "submit order" twice or something because the duplicate order would come right after the first one.

Today, I got 2 duplicate orders within about 20 min of each other, and the duplicate orders did not come through for more than 30 min.

Was this a Paypal issue?

First order from customer 1 came in at 16:56.
First order from customer 2 came in at 17:13.

Cust 1's duplicate order came in at 17:30.
Cust 2's duplicate order came in at 17:35.

Clear as mud?

Did you have debug log-to-file enabled when this happened?
Can you zip and post your logs from today for analysis?
