Paypal was working, now has stopped

Hi,

I successfully bought a test product for £0.01 from my store (http://www.iscapeart.com/store) on 21st May, using Paypal. Everything went through fine and it appears in the admin. No problems.

Having done some cosmetic work to the site, then returning to check out Gift Certificates, I found that it wasn't working when I bought them. Got an email from Paypal, but my store did not register the purchase. I tried buying a gift certificate via a check/money order and it was fine, so I know that works!

I then tried to purchase the same normal test product that worked on 21st May and, surprise surprise, it didn't work. Get an email from Paypal, but I have an order number of"1" and nothing registers with the store. I have gone through all Merlin's troubleshooting advice for Paypal and everything is as it should be. Has anyone got any ideas?

Thanks

Jemma

I have the same problem. A solution would be very nice.

Well, if it worked,
now it doesn't

Re: Paypal was working, now has stopped

arni a good place to start is to answer the questions I posted,
what changes have you made since paypal worked
what changes has your host made since paypal last worked,

there is a reason it STOPPED working and if you havnt made changes then ask your host if they have added firewall rules

Re: Paypal was working, now has stopped

Have emailed my host to ask about firewalls and ports.

Am trying to think what I have done in the interim period, and the answer is nothing but CSS changes.

I noticed that when Paypal directs me back to the checkout success page, an extra forward slash appears, so that in the address bar the URL looks like this:

http://www.iscapeart.com/store//index.php?main_page=checkout_success

This is definitely NOT how it's entered in Paypal. Could this be a problem?

Re: Paypal was working, now has stopped

Also it automatically changes the mode for web services from

https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr

to

https://www.paypal.com/uk/cgi-bin/webscr

when customers are sent to pay. I changed this is in the Zen Cart admin to match with what paypal was doing, and it didn't seem to have an effect.

Re: Paypal was working, now has stopped

Sounds like something might be off in your file:
/includes/configure.php

Could you post the one from your server, without your username and password?

Re: Paypal was working, now has stopped

Might try changing:
define('DIR_WS_HTTPS_CATALOG', '/store//');

To read:
define('DIR_WS_HTTPS_CATALOG', '/store/');

OK.

Do you think it matters though, considering I am not using HTTPS, just HTTP?

Re: Paypal was working, now has stopped

Right, I changed that and it's still not working, although the // has disappeared, it's now only one /.

Also, curiously, it wouldn't let me update the configure.php, and when I checked the permissions they were on 444 - I'm sure they never used to be. Changed them to 644 - that's ok, isnt' it? I am just wondering if something has happened to the site (or am I worrying too much?!?!)

Also, now there is no order number appearing on the success page (before it said "Order number 1" all the time)

Re: Paypal was working, now has stopped

That is a typo ... and needs to be fixed ...

What version of Zen Cart are you running?

Is this a clean install or an upgrade?

If an upgrade, what version did you upgrade from?

How did you do the upgrade?

Re: Paypal was working, now has stopped

If permissions are 444 you need to change them to 644 so you can overwrite the file then change them back to 444 if that is what you need ...

Re: Paypal was working, now has stopped

Sorry - don't know if you saw my edited post. Is it ok to stick with 644?

I'm using 1.3.0.1. On my thread about Gift Certs you suggested I upgrade, and I've just replied to that, saying I will, but am a little concerned about ruining the site considering I've got to show it to my friend (who asked me to make it for him) all complete tomorrow, before he goes on holiday!

Re: Paypal was working, now has stopped

Ok,
the email address used in the zen cart paypal module is the one listed as primary in https://www.paypal.com and it is case sensitive?
Well the information going to paypal looks good.

I would verify the email address,
verify that the host hasnt decided to block incoming on ports 80 or 443

the IPN seems to be working OK

Yes, it is absolutely identical (that was the first thing I checked having read your other posts!)

I am waiting for a reply from my host about the ports.
