Can't find admin page me too

Hi

I have the same problem as a previous poster, but having read the thread I still do not know what to do. However, since this is evidently part of the process, I am posting below the admin/includes/configure.php file

I have asked my web hosters for help on this, and they have "
modified the configuration slightly so that your secure link (ie.
https://serve-ssl.co.uk/computerhypnosis/) points at the public_html
folder rather than the secure folder in your FTP area."

They also say, in response to my sending them the 404 error url, that "
The admin folder does not exist at the level in your example url. It
should say
https://serve-ssl.co.uk/computerhypnosis/catalog/admin/login.php? not
https://serve-ssl.co.uk/computerhypnosis/admin/login.php
"

contents of admin/includes/configure.php file

We recommend using the "cache" folder inside the Zen Cart folder // ie: /path/to/your/webspace/public_html/zen/cache -- leave no trailing slash define('SQL_CACHE_METHOD', 'none'); define('DIR_FS_SQL_CACHE', '/home/computerhypnosis/public_html/catalog/cache'); ?>

I'd be very grateful for help on resolving this because I have no database experience and I am totally lost.

Thanks

EDITED: Never, ever post the zen_id or zenAdminID (session id) in a forum, email, newsgroup, newsletter, advertisement, etc. etc. etc. or you will be doomed ... :eek:

define('HTTP_CATALOG_SERVER', 'http://computeraidedselfhypnosis.com');
define('HTTPS_CATALOG_SERVER', 'https://serve-ssl.co.uk/computerhypnosis/');

// Use secure webserver for catalog module and/or admin areas?
define('ENABLE_SSL_CATALOG', 'true');
define('ENABLE_SSL_ADMIN', 'true');

// NOTE: be sure to leave the trailing '/' at the end of these lines if you make changes!

define('DIR_WS_ADMIN', '/catalog/admin/');
define('DIR_WS_CATALOG', '/catalog/');
define('DIR_WS_HTTPS_ADMIN', '/catalog/admin/');
define('DIR_WS_HTTPS_CATALOG', '/catalog/');

Make the changes above- note you need to do BOTH the admin/includes/configure.php and the catalog/includes/configure.php.

Re: Can't find admin page me too

Er, now that I have gone and looked through my configure.php file I can't find 'zen_id', 'zenAdminID', or 'session id' in the file. I'm not sure what I posted that I should not have, or perhaps I didn't and the message from Ajeh is just a warning. Please could someone enlighten me as I don't want to repeat a mistake I have made, or make a different one in the future, especially when the warning is so drastic! Apologies if this is all terribly obvious, I really am totally new to this kind of thing! Thanks.

Re: Can't find admin page me too

Depending on the URL you are looking at when you grab it ... some have the zenid or zenAdminID in the URL ...

What you need to be sure of is that when copying and pasting an URL anywhere, that you cut that peice off ... :smile:

Re: Can't find admin page me too

Yesterday, I acheived a working admin page, and the shop was all there, and it all looked good. This morning, the admin page is ok, but the shop is unreachable. I get the messages:-

Warning: main(DIR_WS_TEMPLATEStemplate_default/common/html_header.php) [function.main]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/computerhypnosis/public_html/catalog/index.php on line 43

Fatal error: main() [function.require]: Failed opening required 'DIR_WS_TEMPLATEStemplate_default/common/html_header.php' (include_path='.:/usr/local/apache/php/lib/php') in /home/computerhypnosis/public_html/catalog/index.php on line 43

I've checked line 43 in index.php, it reads:-

Line 43 in index.php reads
require($template->get_template_dir('html_header.php',DIR_WS_TEMPLAT E, $current_page_base,'common'). '/html_header.php');

I know c programming, but I don't understand what is happening. Where is main? How can I follow the program flow?

Is this a problem with the database, or has some setting in the server got messed up?

I asked my hosting company and they said:-

It looks like you've not set the path for DIR_WS_TEMPLATES correctly.
There is a possibility that Zen Cart is interacting negatively with
mod_security, which you may want to explore in the Zen forum

But I haven't set it to anything, and yesterday it was working!?

Searching for Dir_ws_templates in the help I have not found anything. If this is the problem could someone please tell me how to set it, and what to set it to.

Thanks

Re: Can't find admin page me too

It sounds like you overwrote the file:
/includes/configure.php

With the file:
/admin/includes/configure.php

These are 2 different files with different information for the Catalog and Admin ...

Re: Can't find admin page me too

Thanks again, that sounds as if it makes sense. Unfortunately, I no longer seem to have a backup copy of catalog/includes/configure.php. Is it simplest for me to install the whole of zen cart again? If I do this, do I need to uninstall, or just delete everything, or can I just install over the top of the old one? Will it do a 'repair' install?!

Re: Can't find admin page me too

Doing the install again will erase your existing database, but it will rebuild your configure.php files.

Re: Can't find admin page me too

Thanks for that. No harm done as I haven't started configuring it yet.

Sadly I'm not able to carry out the reinstall. I have deleted all the old files, and uploaded a fresh copy of zen cart. But when I try to install the software I get a 500 error:-

Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, [email protected] and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

I assume this is something which will have to be fixed by the hosting company. I'm leaving it at that for today!

Thanks for your help.

Re: Can't find admin page me too

I'm not sure why you didn't get that error during your first install ... unless you used some other method to do installation.

Try removing the /zc_install/.htaccess file from your server and then run the installation again. It's there to help work with the mod_security setting on most servers, but in some cases it causes a problem because the host has restricted mod_security overrides, making the .htaccess override cause an error. :S

Re: Can't find admin page me too

Thanks DrByte, fixed it just like that! I imagine that the reason that I didn't get the problem on the first install was that the domain hosters made a change to the configuration of some kind. They did notify me, but I no longer have the details.

Many thanks for your expert help.
