White space at top of main page (define_main_page.php)

Hi guys,

I'm having a little trouble reducing the whitespace at the of where the contents of define_main_page.php is displayed.

On my site, the only 'text' is this file is an image, yet when I view the site there is a reasonable amount of white space above it. I've switched off 'Show Customer Greeting' in admin, which helped a little.

The store is at http://www.cladda.co.uk/shop/ (still in development and it is my first, so don't laugh too hard!)

I would be very grateful of any advice!

Many thanks

Re: White space at top of main page (define_main_page.php)

This is what is causing your white space :

<div class="centerColumn" id="indexCategories"> <h1 id="indexCategoriesHeading"></h1>

That is not being used and should be removed.

Use the developers tool kit in your admin to find that reference and remove it where from the file that is calling it.

Hope that helps!

Re: White space at top of main page (define_main_page.php)

Hi Tina,

Thanks for your speedy reply!

I found that text as part of the tpl_index_categories.php in includes/templates/MY_TEMPLATE/templates/

Rather than just deleting the code, I'd rather get it to stop executing, as it seems to be dependant on $show_welcome == true

Is $show_welcome set by something in admin? I have found references to it in init_includes/init_category_path.php but I don't want to mess around with anything I'm not sure about...
