Trying to make custom headers for Catalog Categories

hey there, can someone tell me how to override the Categories' tpl_header.php?

The catagories were created by using the Catalog->Categories/Products tool in the Admin.

I know you can change the header of pages that have a subfolder in the modules folder, but these Categories don't (or I can't seem to find).

Can anyone help me?

Thanks.

Re: Trying to make custom headers for Catalog Categories

Your question is not clear? Perhaps you could provide some more information or a URL to look at?

If you want to override tpl_header.php, the default file is located in
includes/templates/template_default/sideboxes/tpl_header.php

Using the template override system, you copy the file from that location to:
includes/templates/YOUR_CUSTOM_TEMPLATE_DIR/sideboxes/

Then edit the copied file.

Actually the correct location is includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/common/tpl_header.php

The header isn't in the sideboxes folder.

Re: Trying to make custom headers for Catalog Categories

This is presented where 'custom' is your template name, replace with the name of your template and insure that the folders exist and place your edited files in them. What you want is not straight away in the tpl_header.php that you referenced.

In your includes/languages/CUSTOM/english.php find this line of code:

define('BOX_HEADING_CATEGORIES', 'Categories');

To use an image for this, can change it as follows:

define('BOX_HEADING_CATEGORIES', 'your_graphic.jpg');

Save your graphic to includes/templates/CUSTOM/images.

in includes/modules/sideboxes/CUSTOM/categories.php Find this:

$title = BOX_HEADING_CATEGORIES;

and change it to:

$title = zen_image($template->get_template_dir(BOX_HEADING_CATEGORIES, DIR_WS_TEMPLATE, $current_page_base,'images'). '/' . BOX_HEADING_CATEGORIES, HEADER_ALT_TEXT);

Note: You would do this for each sidebox that you are changing and assumes that your graphic has the box title as part of the graphic as you want it displayed.
