product type phone

Ive put togather a product types which i need to test on other sites, it works fine on my test site.
its based on the product type music catagory, but has extended fields of input ( 40 )
the best thing about this is you can creat another product type all you need to do is

open all files in your favrite text editor, and find and replace the following;

phone --> new name
Phone --> New name (with a capital letter)
PHONE --> new name (capitals)

network --> newname2
Network --> newname2 (with capital letter)
NETWORK --> newname2 (capitals)

then change the product ID in the sql file from 12 to another

you should be good to go

using the above I have put togather a second product typs called product type tariff.

phone --> tariff
Phone --> Tariff
PHONE --> TARIFF

network --> supply
Netword --> Supply
NETWORK --> SUPPLY

new sql product ID 11

it seems to work well

hi there...i installed product phone on my site and it works great...one question tho, i have not been able to find any info on how to get easy populate to pull out the new products info? any info would be great...would prolly even pay for the mod as i need it pretty badly.

You can use the Developers Tool Kit and search for tariff_data, it will find any pages that have "Tariff_data" in it.
OR
you can Locate the following pages

"admin/includes/languages/english/product_tariff.php"
and
"includes/languages/english/product_tariff_info.php"

around line 37 you will see the start of the Tariff_data you wish to change.

Example as followers:

Line #38 : define('TEXT_PRODUCTS_TARIFF_DATA_1', 'To Landline ');

the part you need to change is the part between the single quotes

'To Landline' change it to 'Anything you like'

and be careful not to alter anything else.

I do not know how easy populate works, does it populate the sql files direct and if so it should be easy to write a file to do the job.

give me an idear of how it populates the data.

and ill have a look, as i could use it myself.
