Admin Modules Menu - pages not found

In the Admin/modules, none of the options (payment, shipping or order total) pages are being found. This is a new installation and everything else so far seems to be working ok.

Not sure what kind of information you would need from me to point me in the right direction to fix it since I'm not a programmer and haven't a clue. Please just ask me what you need and if it's something that a newbie might not know exactly where to look for the info, let me know that, too.

Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Linda

Re: Admin Modules Menu - pages not found

Just finished reloading modules files and still not working. Not sure if it means anything but the link path is formatted as follows (changed site name and admin from actual)

http://mysite.com/admin/modules.php?set=payment

Grasping at straws here. :-)

Thanks for your help.

Re: Admin Modules Menu - pages not found

Do you see errors?

Do you see:
Module Directory: /home/your_username/public_html/your_directory/includes/modules/payment/

Re: Admin Modules Menu - pages not found

And between the title: Payment Modules and that line ... are you saying you see nothing?

If so, I think you have a bad upload of files and need to reload all of your files again ...

Re: Admin Modules Menu - pages not found

I'm directly connected thru Dreamweaver. I pull my files right off the server and when I save them, they go directly to the server.

Re: Admin Modules Menu - pages not found

Did you download your Zen Cart software from here ... Unzip it ... and then load your files via an FTP program to your server?

What did you use to upload the files from your computer to your server?

Re: Admin Modules Menu - pages not found

I downloaded from here..unzipped onto my c drive and then found the file through my files in dreamweaver (side menu) and copied and then opened the FTP connection to my site through the same files side menu of dreamweaver and pasted.

I had originally loaded them into a "shop" folder and when I got my site the way I wanted it, I then copied and pasted from "shop" to the root but it didn't work (I was having some kind of session error) so I then copied the installation files to the root and started over and then just copied and pasted the custom folders over.

Hope you can understand my jumble.
thanks again,
Linda

Re: Admin Modules Menu - pages not found

Backup your site and reload your files to the server ...

Somewhere you have a files that are all out of sorts and things are not working properly ...

If you see all the Payment Modules in the directory:

/includes/modules/payments

And you do not see them in the Admin ...

or ...

If you see all the Shipping Modules in the directory:

/includes/modules/shipping

And you do not see them in the Admin ...

or ...

If you see all the Order Total Modules in the directory:

/includes/modules/order_total

And you do not see them in the Admin ...

Then your files are for sure messed up there ... otherwise, it could be any number of files that are bad ...

And ... just before you go and do all that reloading ...

Post your /includes/configure.php from the server without your username and password ...

A nice typo in there will also make this happen ...

Re: Admin Modules Menu - pages not found

I'm assuming that you intentionally installed the rotating-database code in that file.
I'm also assuming you intentionally removed all your usernames and passwords for security when posting.

Using Dreamweaver is great... very handy for editing individual files and uploading changes of individual items. .... with one exception: DW isn't so great at mass-uploads, and frequently times out. Also, if you've done any "checkin/checkout" stuff with files via DW, then you may have problems if things aren't all checked back "in" properly.

For doing mass uploads, I always use a dedicated FTP program ... because it knows how to do FTP well and doesn't drop connection etc, and has better error-handling etc. A great free one is FileZilla: http://filezilla.sf.net

If your OT modules aren't showing, then either they're not "there", or there are other unexpected files in the /includes/modules/order_totals or includes/languages/english/modules/order_totals folders. I suggest wiping those folders out and re-uploading using a reliable FTP program

Re: Admin Modules Menu - pages not found

I'll try that and I thank you soooo much for your help. I did install the rotating database because I was having the error that I had too many queiries (sp?) to the database and it would shut my site down for hours at a time.

I ended up messing my site up totally trying to fix that problem and needed to start fresh. UGHH.

I will reload those files first thing in the morning with the ftp program that you suggested and if that doesn't work, I reload them all through the ftp program. I am determined. :-)

Thank you again for your help,
Linda

Re: Admin Modules Menu - pages not found

Where is the information on the certified sites? In January when I need to renew my hosting, I am going to be looking to change. Right now I use Ipowerweb and have been with them for years and never had a problem until I started with OsCommerce & Zencart sites.

Now back to my issue... :-)

Would it mess up anywhere else if I pointed my admin directory to the "shop" directory (where it is working fine) with the other files in the root directory. I've already edited my configure files and it seems to be working but was wondering if down the road, I'll run into some other problem.

Thanks again for your help...I really appreciate it,
Linda
