Secure and regular pages (Do I need double entries)

In order for my SSL to work I had to load a complete set of Zen files on my http and Https directories. When I update the welcome page from admin it update the http and not the https, and sometime customer get refer to it after they log in. Is there a way to get https to mirror the http or do i have to copy every file manually (Assuming that will work) also the picture do not show up do I have to load them in both areas). I am new with Zen cart. Can anyone help. Thanks :schmoll:

Re: Secure and regular pages (Do I need double entries)

That has to do with how your hosting site configures its servers ...

Most, use symbolic links to acheive the one directory does both ...

Others ... well ... they make you work for it ...

When working with programs and making changes, the secure and non-secure must be mirror images or else things will fail ...

I, myself, could never deal with a server where I had to work with 2 directories ... it would drive me nuts ...

Note: one question on a post is really all you need ... otherwise it gets really confusing ... thanks!

Re: Secure and regular pages (Do I need double entries)

Thank you for answering.
I am thinking to put a head tag with forwording from each of the https page (for the one other than the secure checkout pages) to redirect to the same page in http. Is this possible in the Zen cart or will it conflict with php?

I don't think that is a good plan ...

You need to do it right for how your server is setup or have your hosting site set your site up better ...

Some are able to fix this ... others cannot figure it out or cannot do it for one reason or another ...

Never know until you ask ...

That Control Panel setting you found on your site to allow the secure and non-secure to use the same files will help you a great deal ... thanks for the update!
