Product Info - Prev/Next Order

I think this a bug, I have set the sort order of a number of products so they are in the order I want on the product listing page, however when I click on a product and and use the Previous / Next buttons on the product info page I find the order of the product is not how I see them on the product listing. Looking at the order the previous / next is using I can see the order is based on the Product Name, so proucts with a Z in the name will be the last product in the previous next even if you have set it with a high sort order.

I hope what I just tried to explain makes sence, I will try to explain better if not.

Not really a bug. Just not what you expected.

Try Admin->Configuration->Product Listing->Display Product Listing Default Sort Order
The help text with it explains how the available options work.

I have tried added the options 2a, 2b ,1a etc into Admin->Configuration->Product Listing->Display Product Listing Default Sort Order Just to see what happens and i'm not sure if you undestand what behaviour I see.

I have the order I want in the product listing!

However if I click on the first product in the list and go into the product info the text above the previous and next buttons say "Product 5/5" this is not how I would expect it, it want it to say Product 1/5.

Each Listing has its own sort order setting based on what you want it to default to ...

The Product _info page on the Prev/Next also has its own sort order as well ...

Configuration ... Product Info ...

Previous Next - Sort Order
Products Display Order by
0= Product ID
1= Product Name
2= Model
3= Price, Product Name
4= Price, Model
5= Product Name, Model
6= Product Sort Order

NOTE: for the Product Listing itself ... the sort order is defined by:

Display Product Listing Default Sort Order
Product Listing Default sort order?
NOTE: Leave Blank for Product Sort Order. Sort the Product Listing in the order you wish for the default display to start in to get the sort order setting. Example: 2a

This means ... based on the Product Listing ... Click on the Title of a field and look in the URL for the sort=XX

If you want the default to be your specific Products Sort Order that you set by numbered order, leave it blank ...**

Many thanks for replying so quickly. The information you gave sorted out my problem. I did try my hardest to find an sort option for prev next, but I just couldn't see the wood for the trees. :)
