Can't access my data MySql data base

You're not the first nor the last one to have trouble with iPowerWeb's unique and bizarre server configuration.

You'll find that the Zen Cart certified hosts (see link at top of page) are competitive price-wise and run Zen Cart better than iPowerWeb will ever run it. Not to mention that these guys "do" Zen Cart as a mainstay. For an eCommerce setup, you're best to go with someone who knows and does eCommerce specifically.

Anyway, this isn't a sales pitch. You can do what you like. Just sharing observations.

Jumping in here with some of the same problems. My Zen Cart was working great until the host's server was attacked. It's not iPowerweb, I don't think it's unique and bizarre.

What information server side should I be looking for? And how do I compare the same information with one of your certified hosting solutions?

Also, I found a thread from two years ago that said Zen Cart does not need Zend Optimizer. Is that still a true statement? That seems to be causing conflicts.

i have the same problem as you, i can connect to my database, but ZC installer can't, my phpbb3 forum can, but ZC installer cant', maybe it's the ZC installer..
i have followed all the instructions as per note, on the two configure.php files CMD mod to 777 , still i can't connect to my database with ZC installer...

my provider says it's the ZC installer too... but phpbb3 forums connects to database fine...

if you get yours up and running... please share! really much appreciated..

If you are using 'localhost' as your Database Server address then try using '127.0.0.1' instead - this is the ip address of 'localhost'.
