Help me manual make categories and product form database

hi everybody!
i have shopping cart use ZenCart but categories menu not appropriate, and i want make menu with catalog when customer click will show menu subcat in current catalog and product, when customer click subcat will show product in subcat and show menu subcat in current catalog.
