Copying Sub catagories

I have about 7 main catagories, and then it is tiered into ~20 sub catagories with each of those having a few subcatagories of their own.

Each main catagory needs to have the same subcatagories (same pictures, titles, descriptions), however the products in the sub catagories will be different.

Is there a way to copy the subcatagories into the main catagories? Manual entry of each and every sub catagory over and over again will take a LONG time and seems rather repetitive to enter the same title, description, picture etc over and over again.

Thank you for your time.

Re: Copying Sub catagories

There's no tool built into Zen Cart for copying categories. Categories can only be moved. The functionality exists for products within a category. There you can move products or copy them to other categories for multiple listings.

Your best bet is to manually enter them or create a SQL script to create your additional categories. Doesn't sound like that many, and once they're done they're done.

Make sure you have a good backup of your database before you experiment!!

Re: Copying Sub catagories

Anyone already have a script? We are talking a few hundred catagories in all.
