Shipping Weight mysteriously changes

Hey guys, I'm new to zen cart and im really excited about using. but of course there are some hurdles. :(

When testing my site i find that while in the SHOPPING CART page.. the weight is added up correctly.. but when i click to CHECKOUT (STEP 1) the weight has jumped up 3 extra lbs.

I couldnt find any information in the forums on this so I'm hoping someone might be able to reply to my post.

Unless your package is no weight at all or the delivery service don't charge you extra for the package weight.

It is for Tare weight,
Goto you admin -> Configuartion -> Shipping/Packaging

And config best fit you.

The items do have weights. i guess you could say that they are calulated correctly + 3lbs. no matter what it will add an extra 3lbs.

i am using USPS and UPS only.

i dont see why it is giving me this wierd problem?

What is the weight of typical packaging of small to medium packages?
Example: 10% + 1lb 10:1
10% + 0lbs 10:0
0% + 5lbs 0:5
0% + 0lbs 0:0
0:3 <= By default install, this add 3 units of weight to the Package.

And there also another option:
=> Larger packages - added packaging percentage:weight
