Quantity Box

Just wanted to know how I can get rid of the quantity box. Don't need or want it. I did run across this for an answer but can't find what they are talking about.

Just hide the quantity box ...

In the Products you have a setting for:

Quote:
Products Quantity Box Shows: Yes, Show Quantity Box No, Do not show Quantity Box

Re: Quantity Box

There being several boxes in several places, you need to be a little more specific and provide us with a look (URL).
What the post you saw was talking about is the option in the admin control panel under Catalog,Product Type, Product Type, and edit layout for the type of product you want to edit.

I don't want to put in a quantity total of each product I have in stock. Don't want any mention of this. Didn't know if I could over ride this.

Re: Quantity Box

If you mean the quantity that you have in stock...

admin > catalog > product types >at the left select edit layout > Show Quantity in Stock> set to false

Thank you. It worked! Completely overlooked that one.

Re: Quantity Box

Well after searching around, Im still stuck on this bit...

I dont want visitors to know how many I have set up in the system.
I may set 50 or 1 as stock, but I still get Max: # come up on a test shopping cart addition (using either another person login or as a guest) ?

I think its omitted the amount when looking at the item as it was below the weight, but have looked at 'view source' of pages in order to attempt to find the php or template but nothing there for a clue!

  • <td class="cartQuantity">

1<input type="hidden" name="cart_quantity[]" value="1" /><br /><span class="alert bold"></span><br /><br />Max: 1 </td>*

Some things easily found, others spent ages finding the file/option.
Anyone?

Re: Quantity Box

been there, its switched off.
admin/configeration/product listing/display product quantity = 0

also in
catalog/catagories & products/ the item detail option has;
Product Qty Maximum: 0 = Unlimited, 1 = No Qty Boxes

Wether I show 1 or 100, it still shows Max: # (the number) in the checkout & with this radio box marked as
No, Do not show Quantity Box

Re: Quantity Box

I've also been trying to remove the Max quantity text below the buy now button on product listing pages. The store sells only one of a kind items so there is no point emphasising Max:1 for every single product :)

It doesn't look like it can be turned off in admin, but I would just like to ask for confirmation here. If it indeed cannot be turned off in admin I'll just do it in CSS or core.

Re: Quantity Box

Forgot Id made an earlier question on this topic, but since this one I had managed to get the Max 1 off the pages, but since that more recently have encountered that some items I want to show a qty box some not BUT all of them to have a qty box when they get to the checkout so they might change it & refresh the order before they pay.

Readers may find more information/help on these topics here.
