coupons expired not showing inactive

"expireds" don't automatically go "inactive", because you might want to change the dates and re-use the same coupon code/settings/restrictions with just a date change.

In v1.5.4 (er, v1.5.5 and older) if you click "delete" it just marks it as inactive. (So that old orders using them can still refer to their details.) And inactives "don't display".

In v1.5.6 we added the ability to show inactives, and also a "real" delete.
