How do I add subcatagory links to the index page?

The website is populuxebooks.com

On the line for the category links (the one that reads "Architecture Art Design Example Library Magazine Back Issues") I wish to add additional links for all the subcategories. Is this possible?

thank you in advance

If you choose not to have sideboxes, I'm pretty sure the best bet is to fire up EZ pages and assign the titles/links to your subcategories. You can set them to show only up top.

Re: How do I add subcatagory links to the index page?

Thank you for your quiet suggestion on using sideboxes, it looks much better than having the listings spread out over the top.

But now there is a new problem...How do I get rid of the links at the top of the first page and the subcategory links that appear at the top of each main category page.

Repeating the info is not needed since the sidebox now shows the navigation possibilities.

You're welcome.

Ohhh, it's been awhile... I believe the method is to go into Admin-Configuration-Layout Settings, scroll down to 'Categories-Tabs Menu ON/OFF' and set that to 0(false). Mind you, I'm a bit rusty on all the settings.

lol.. thank goodness. I'm still led to believe that you would like to kill the subcategory links in the center column, do you still want to? I just have to add some stuff to my test store and I'll be able to let you know.

They don't bother me that much, I can live with them. Go finish your work and forget about my madness!

Re: How do I add subcatagory links to the index page?

I was just adding stuff to my test store to figure out how to kill those links, not work though. I can't replicate those links, I guess I already have them turned off. As usual, I can't remember how I did it.

You could always do a search of the forum or experiment with the settings in Admin(that way, you can familiarize yourself with all the settings). That is if you get weary of those subcategory links.

I have to ask the dreadful question if you are using that classic template as is or if it's part of the template override system? If it's part of the overrides, then that's good. If it's not, I suggest for you to check out the 'downloads' here and browse around for a template to use. The Classic template will cause you grief with future upgrades. I'm just saying, because your store is new.
