A question about the Super Orders mod

I just downloaded the super orders mod and was going to install it, however, i thought i better ask this questiton first,

I currently have installed the following mods:

confirm e-mail address entry
crafty syntax live help
direct bank deposit
invoice
stock attribute
tax exemption
package tracker
shipping insurance
e-check payments
delivery
order steps
payflow pro
western union

If i install the super orders mod, will it affect any of the current mods that i have installed, and if so, will i have to reinstall the mods to have everything work correctly?

Re: A question about the Super Orders mod

Not that I am aware of, but I don't use all those mods. It's unlikely, because SO is entirely standalone (i.e. does not seriously affect core files or data).

...oh, and there's a new version too

Re: A question about the Super Orders mod

I just installed the new mod... and now i have a question...

in the readme file it says:

  1. Customize Super Order Payment System
If you used the old version of Super Orders, you'll recall all the little
configurations I had stored as defines. Well that crap is out the window!
Go to Admin > Configuration > Super Orders, you'll find all the configurable
options in there, with explanations and instructions.

i refreshed after i ran everything and i don't have any option under configuration that says super orders... did i do something wrong here or am i missing something?

Re: A question about the Super Orders mod

Yes I'd say you are. Did you run the included SQL file completely, as in no errors? The file has the commands to create the group and associated configs. If they aren't there, then you didn't install it properly.

Re: A question about the Super Orders mod

before i run the db file, i have to go in and add to the zen_configuration additions an additional '', for it to process properly. it is because of the tax exempt module which adds a field to the table called configuration_tax_exempt_id. and yes after i made the modifications that were necessary, i ran the sql file... i didn't see any errors... and i checked the db and everything that i see in the sql file exists in the database... hmmm....

Re: A question about the Super Orders mod

Hi,

I'm installing Super Order for the first time (and hoping to see what all it can do -- is there a feature list anywhere?), but although I've copied all the files and change the DB (with one error -- see below) I don't think it's installed completely.

I can see the so_ tables in my db and there is a Super Orders button in the Admin > Configuration menu. But that's it. I don't see the Admin > Customers > Super Orders menu that is mentioned in the docs.

What could be wrong?

Background: I installed QBI mod over a ZC 1.3.8 update, then UPS XML Auto Export, and then Super Orders. Does the order of installation matter?

The error I mentioned above was that the final line of the SQL file didn't execute the first time I ran the script. So I ran that final line separately. (I wanted to undo and redo the SQL changes by rerunning the script, but didn't see a script to remove the SO changes and so I get errors when trying.)

Thanks!
Tim

Re: A question about the Super Orders mod

Oh, and a quick other question:

Does Super Orders have support for back orders management?

Thanks!

Re: A question about the Super Orders mod

There is a huge thread about Super Orders 2.0 but finding out the information i want would be like looking for a needle in a haystack.

All i want is a very quick answer.

What exactly does Super Orders 2.0 do ?

It says this.

Super Orders is exactly what its name implies:
Zen Cart order management on steroids.

It's more in all the areas I always see Zen users asking for more:
more navigation options, more order control, more thorough data, and more
detailed reports. But it's NOT more than you can handle.

Ok thats fine and sounds great but a few questions.

What additional navigation options do you get ?

What additional order controls do you get ?

More thorough data ? What exactly does that mean ?

What else does it give you in layman simple terms ?

In practice it sounds like a fab module but i'd love some more thorough information about exactly what it will provide when i install it.

Re: A question about the Super Orders mod

In the previous version of Super Orders, when a customer paid by credit card, the balance due stayed the same until we posted the payment via the payment button. The current release posts the payment, clears the amount due, and displays the credit card information when the order is entered. Have I missed something during the upgrade or is there a way to keep the credit card transactions from posting automatically? Thanks.
