product in stock from, not working?

i´m assuming that if i put stock available from say 15th sep - no-one can order the product until then - however ive just been able to go through the entire checkout until final payment confirmation ?

I think you have to manually adjust the product to 'Out of Stock' to take it out of the loop.

There might be a proper way to do it, but I'm not sure. :lookaroun
