Installed, Error Says "No Such File" but file is there!

I have version 1.3 and the shop works but nothing ever appears in the main window, be it Privacy Policy or items. At the bottom of the page it displays the following:

*** In searching the forums, I found advice suggesting that the missing file must have failed to be uploaded, however the file in question -- tpl_whats_new.php -- does not exist in the original install files

I was getting the RED error on "PHP open_basedir" but upon reading the forums I chose to ignore.

I'm guessing the cart isn't getting past the whats new sidebox therefore anything scheduled to be displayed afterwards never makes it.

I'm sorry, file IS NOT there (tpl_whats_new.php) but it also doesn't exist in the original INSTALL FILES. Is this files supposed to be generated during the install then (but wasn't)?

That file has been in the distribution for a couple years now...

I turn off "what's new" and I get a similar error except it's complaining about not finding tpl_whos_online.php

the error say that it can't find > includes/templates/template_default/sideboxes/tpl_whats_new.php

check this directory for the file, if not there reupload this directory.

I just checked my local copy and it is in there in the right place.

you must be looking in the wrong place, because for the original error that you reported it shows the file erroring out on line 26. Well, for this to happen it has to be there so that it can run and error out.:unsure:

What I should have said is the whats_new.php will be in the includes/modules/sideboxes folder and tpl_whats_new.php will be in the includes/templates/default_template/sideboxes folder*:blush:

If tpl_whats_new.php is not where it belongs then upload directory again.

Ah, as you see above I was mistakenly looking in: includes/modules/sideboxes instead of includes/templates/template_default/modules/sideboxes
