Left and Right Side Link Colors

Siteurl is: http://www.fotopoet.com/zencart/

Everything in FireFox is exactly the way I want it to be. It gets the correct colors for the two links which are on the left side and the one on the right side of the page. These are "New Products (more)" and "Reviews [more]" on the left and "Shipping Cart (more)" on the right. In MSIE I was able to set the hover color (#00ffff) to what I wanted but it just accepts the color of all the other links (#0000ff) for the non hover color on the page and not to what I want (#ffffff).

I've gone through the stylesheet.css with no success. Any ideas are appreciated.

Re: Left and Right Side Link Colors

I'm guessing this is about the Shopping Cart sidebox heading being blue in IE and FF?

H3.rightBoxHeading {
	MARGIN-TOP: 0px;
	FONT-SIZE: 1.1em;
        COLOR: #ffffff
}

H3.rightBoxHeading A {
	FONT-SIZE: 1.1em;
        COLOR: #ffffff
}

Re: Left and Right Side Link Colors

Thanks Sketchy. I made the change which as you correctly point out should have been #ffffff but unfortunately that is not the problem. Its that the "New Products (more)" and "Reviews [more]" on the left side of the page and "Shipping Cart (more)" on the right side are correct in FireFox appearing #ffffff except when the cursor is placed over them which then becomes is #00fff but in MSIE they appear #0000ff except when the cursor is placed over them which then becomes #00ffff.
It looks like that in MSIE these links are picking up the #0000ff color from the other links on the page except for the hover color.

I would like them to appear as in FireFox which is #ffffff except when the cursor hovers over them which should then be #00ffff.

Re: Left and Right Side Link Colors

You're welcome.

I thought that shopping cart heading was the only problem. I can't replicate what you mean via IE or FF. They are both the lastest. All the colors seem assigned properly. All the sidebox heading links come up that brighter blue and they appear white otherwise. Have you flushed your cache in IE? I know sometimes it's bad for updating colors after a change in the stylesheet. I'll go through your stylesheet again, but everything appears right.

Re: Left and Right Side Link Colors

Thanks again. I've flushed he cache and refreshed the page each and everytime I viewed it. I've attached a photo of the left side of the page using MSIE that shows what I am talking about.

The "New Products (more)" and "Reviews [more]" on the left side of the page and "Shipping Cart (more)" in this phot are in blue whereas they should be in white which is the way they appear in FireFox. I hope this helps show what I am talking about.

Re: Left and Right Side Link Colors

There seems to be a problem, no doubt.

Being under XHTML... I'm wondering if older browsers have a problem rendering with case sensitivity. Particularly the H3 selectors that seem to play a part. Try h3.

Re: Left and Right Side Link Colors

Thank you very much for your help. I had already tried the H3 with no luck. I will just change the color scheme to something that will work for me. Once againthanks.

Re: Left and Right Side Link Colors

You're welcome, but it's a shame I couldn't see those titles in blue as they were for you.

I know myself, I get so frustrated with things like that. :down:

Re: Left and Right Side Link Colors

I am having a similar problem with the link color for my shoppingcart sidebox.

I have changed the ss code as follows

h3.rightBoxHeading, h3.rightBoxHeading a {
font-size: 12px;
color: #F7F7A5;
}

This is a light yellow that matches my other box headings,but the color doesn't seem to be taking for the link on the heading of the shoppingcart box. You can see the link when you rollover the heading, but not otherwise.

the page is http://www.littlegees.com/shop

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Re: Left and Right Side Link Colors

p.s. - to the post above.

Another wierd thing is that the link in the content section of the shopping cart sidebox is NOT taking the colors of my other links. :dontgetit
Any suggestions there would be appreciated also.

Thanks.

Re: Left and Right Side Link Colors

@chelseagirl

So, I'm guessing you not seeing the cart sidebox heading in yellow?

`Again, I can't reproduce what ya'll are seeing. I see the heading in yellow and then maroon for the hover over. I'm using the lastest Firefox and Explorer browsers.

About the cart contents, you can change the link colors in .cartOldItem and .cartNewItem. :smile:

Re: Left and Right Side Link Colors

Thanks for the reply, Sketchy. Odd that it can be seen in some browsers and not in others, but at least its there for some. I think I'll just eliminate it from the column for now. Thanks again.

Re: Left and Right Side Link Colors

You're welcome.

I'll have to try on one of my friend's older browsers and see what's the dilly. I can't see why different browser would interpret link colors differently. :wacko:

...Unless, it's not a websafe color? Hmmm.

Re: Left and Right Side Link Colors

I was having a similar problem when trying to change the Featured link to a white color. It would just show up as the same color as the other links. I made the following change (for the left sidebox, you can obviously do the same for the right sidebox)

h3.leftBoxHeading, h3.leftBoxHeading a:link, h3.leftBoxHeading a:visited, h3.leftBoxHeading a:active {
font-size: 1em;
color: #FFFFFF;
}

Re: Left and Right Side Link Colors

chemdata,

it appears that you have fixed the problem now (I think at least). I am running into a similar problem. Everything in Firefox 1.5 looks fine. In IE 6.whatever the shopping cart sidebox header links are showing up as a blue link. I need these to be in white, but when I change the link color it changes the link color for everything. How did you fix yours? Thanks!
