Recording Artist sidebox?

Is there any way to display the recording artists on a side box (like the record company's side box) using the admin page?

I am trying to add an Artist sidebox also..

I have copied from record_companies and created/modified:
\modules\sideboxes\artists.php
\index_filters\artist_filter.php
\templates\template_default\sideboxes\tpl_artists_select.php
\language\chrome(my custom template)\english.php

The box shows on my test website www.reggaemp3.us but there are no Artists listed in the box although if you select a line showing '..' it will go to the artists products.

Any advice anyone can give will be greatly appreciated.

I am using Zen 1.3.7 and have scoured the posts for info on how to add an Artist sidebox. I have not been able to find a solution that will perform the same as the record company select function.

I am not a programmer but I am a pc consultant and can do enough to be dangerous to myself so I tend to be cautious. So I have a dup. site for testing.

So far I have copied from record_companies and created/modified:

includes\modules\sideboxes\artists.php
includes\index_filters\artist_filter.php
includes\templates\template_default\sideboxes\tpl_artists_select.php
includes\language\chrome(my custom template)\english.php

Admin:
\record_artists.php
\includes\language\english\record_artists.php

I have added a row in myPHP 'get_terms_to filter:
artists_id, table_record_artists, artists_name

My result is a sidebox labelled 'Artist' with a dropdown box. However in the dropdown box I only get a list of '..' which when I select one of them (..) I get a list of an artists products. And when I do a 'view source' in a browser I only see a list of '..' by the side of a list of artist_ids. So the only apparent item I seem to be missing is the population of the list with the 'artist_name'.

I feel that an Artist box would be a major help for my customers in their search for music.
I don't know if this is tacky, but I am desparate, I will make a donation of $250 if you guys can help me finish this project that others seem to want also.
