Is there a way to send multiple zip files when someone orders?
You could add 3 files to the download: Part 1, Part 2, Part 3. Make them radio buttons. And then since they're all selected by default when you set the default setting when adding/editing the attribute, when the order is placed, they'll get all 3 zips available to click on as individual downloads.
One "plus" to this is that they can more reliably do the download with less risk of a timeout causing them to have to start all over again ... instead they would only have to restart an individual file.
Alternatively, if you:
- download by redirect, then the webserver may not be as taxed
or
- download by streaming, then the webserver will send the file pieces in 2K blocks, without having to load the entire file into RAM before sending to the customer ... thus reducing the memory load on the server.
