This product was added to our catalog on %s

On the NEW PRODUCTS page, I get

"This product was added to our catalog on %s"

Under the product info, the date shows up correctly, but only on the
new products page does it show as it is literally set in the language file.

How do we fix it?

thanks

Re: This product was added to our catalog on %s

How did you get this appearing on your "new products" page? Zen Cart doesn't normally show dates on New Products listings. Thus, it would seem that whatever code you used to do it isn't retrieving the date from the database in order to display it, and you likely aren't using sprintf() to do it, or the %s likely wouldn't show.

The 2 FAQ's in this link about finding which files to edit and using the developer's toolkit should help you find where you added the custom code to your products_new module/template/language files but didn't adapt it to combine the date into the %s using sprintf() like the product_info page does (from which it appears you copied it when you made the customizations).

Re: This product was added to our catalog on %s

I think I need to be more specific

The file seems to be /classic/product_music_info.php

The line is : This product was added to our catalog on %s

This link: http://www.cybermidi.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=products_new

Shows it is:
"This product was added to our catalog on %s. Saturday 02 September, 2006"

Click the first title for more information, and down the page, it shows as:

"This product was added to our catalog on Saturday 02 September, 2006. "

If I remove the %s from the language file above, the second first link shows right, but the second link no longer shows the date at all.

So the bug here is probably not in the language file, but in the core files.

Re: This product was added to our catalog on %s

It looks like your template may have this defined incorrectly ...

The language file should have this defined as:

/includes/languages/english/products_new.php

Line #25 : define('TEXT_DATE_ADDED', 'Date Added:');

Either your's is defined as something else or you are using a different contant in the template ...

Re: This product was added to our catalog on %s

Hmmm ... Ajeh's right. I was misreading some things.

Either you have a TEXT_DATE_ADDED in an override file that's getting loaded before your "products_new.php" language file loads, or you have changed it from the default (which Ajeh quoted).
