Salesmaker not show under Specials?

I think the same logic could be applied to the sideboxes and centerboxes, but I only needed the listing. So, others can feel free to modify this code and share it with others.

I followed your instruction to change the code, but I found there was a problem.

In salesmaker, I put deduction of 15% only on products between $5.99 to $12.99, in the category "1st - 5th grade". But in the special listing page, everything under the category ""1st - 5th grade" were there, including those items priced below $5.99. Therefore, in the listing page of "specials", customers actually see lots of items "not on sale". the website is: http://www.best4future.com/specials?page=1

Both the 15% off products and 30% off proudcts are in the category "1st - 5th grade", whose Maser_categories_id is 2.

I only set the 15% discount on the products which are above $5.99. But, in the special page (http://www.best4future.com/specials), you can see all of the products in the category "1st - 5th grade", no matter they are on sale (orginal price above $5.99) or not (original price are below $5.99).

the sideboxes and centerboxes of "specials" only show the discounted products set from admin-catalog-specials, since numinix didn't give us the code to display the discounted products set from admin-catalog-salesmaker.

Additional checks would needed to be added to support limiting by price. But, it wouldn't be difficult to do this in the SQL query or even in PHP after.

This is one of the limitations to an incomplete build of the SaleMaker based on the price filters ...

Perhaps numinix will have a simple fix to go along with his easy method of trying to combine the two to be displayed in the Specials ...

Having a bit of a problem, implemented it as per the instructions, however, when i go to my specials page... it still doesn't list the sales?

If you go to http://gbsa.tyrmida.co.za/shop/all-products

you'll see the first shoe top left (alma hi) is on special, and the shoe to the right of it (alma lo) is on sale.

If you go to the specials page http://gbsa.tyrmida.co.za/shop/specials

it only shows the alma hi.

Thanks for the fix but what would I have to change to get the specials to show on the index page in the center? I have "Show Special Products on Main Page" set to "on" but with the fix the salemaker don't show.

I went ahead and made a hack that lets you add multiple items to Specials at one time. Is anyone still interested in this? Don't want to waste my time putting this out there if no one needs it.

Have you made other customizations to the specials listing? This code does work with ZC 1.5.1. Try using the developer's toolkit to find where this text is used:

select count(distinct *) as total FROM

In case this helps anyone:

for those of you like me that suddenly got the “WARNING: An Error occurred, please refresh the page and try again.” using Zen Cart 1.5.1 – I dug around and for some reason when a new salemaker is being created its addin in 2 commas st the start of the field – which the MySQL cannot work with

so in

Open includes/modules/pages/specials/main_template_vars.php and find:

I changed

$sale_categories_all = substr($sale_categories_all, 1); // remove preceeding comma

too

$sale_categories_all = substr($sale_categories_all, 2); // remove preceeding 2 comma’s

and error went away – now I don’t know why this is happening now – as it was working fine

but for those that just want a solution try it - I don't guarantee that it won't have an effect further down the line :)
