Can I just merge both stylesheets, original and new?

I was wondering if its as simple as just merging both original and new stylesheets into one stylesheet to make it work for 1.3.0.2 new version? I dont want 2 stylesheets for my site. I notice some things, like the horrible orange background tile_back, is referenced in both stylesheets. This is not good when trying to customise design, as you have two files to work with.

So I just want to make sure that if I put original into new and just call it stylesheet, will I have repeated or redundant styles?

Can you just put one stylesheet in there that covers v1.3.0.2? The older versions wont affect anyone who downloads new version.

The best bet is to upgrade to the newest Zen Cart and then you'll save yourself the headache of merging stylesheets for an obsolete tabled template. Keeping aside the certain benefits, the new version of Zen has way more security.

If you wanted to stay where you're at, I suggest to download a contributed template in the 'downloads' on top of the forum menu. You can also have a peek in 'Contributed Templates' forum. Then you won't have to bother with two stylesheets or orange images. Future upgrades will break your current template. It's also recommended that you do all your customizing via the over-ride system, in order to protect your customization. That template you are working on, was only included to transition people that were using even older Zen Carts, to the new template system.

I'll take a look but I am using the latest version. I downloaded version 1.3.0.2 from the site a few days ago and it has two stylesheets... new and original. Both stylesheets seem to control parts of the website. So I want only one stylesheet with no redundant or missing styles.

I just checked download and v1.3.5 is there now. I am sure that wasn;t there the other day. So I take it this has only one stylesheet? Will take a look.

You won't regret using the newest version, it's jam packed with new features and some issues were addressed. It's very new, that's why you probably why you didn't see it available before.

The new version of Zen comes with a new 'Classic' look template, one stylesheet. It also has the default template system. So, you can copy and rename the new Classic to what you wish and customize it easily, while using the over-ride system. Most contributed templates in 'downloads' are compatible. There might be the odd selector re-named or added in the stylesheet, but that's about all.

Cool look forward to it. But one question... I did ask this in the General Queries section... how do you upgrade from 1.3.0.2? It is only the full package.

You're asking the wrong person. :laugh:

I didn't do it properly and overwrote my database. I guess I was too excited and didn't follow the proper procedure. Luckily, my store is small and didn't cause too much grief. I don't have the experience of a proper upgrade procedure, but I would imagine it's the same as the prior upgrading.

`I think I got the version without the 'Upgrade' option, that has been rectified though.

You have to run the /zc_install and do an Upgrade ... this upgrades the database files ...

Backup your database and site ...

We recommend that you do a test upgrade and not attempt to upgrade a Live site directly ...

Think of it as good practice even if this is just a working site ... :smile:
