Order Amount Minimum in Chekout

I am not a programmer so I am hoping this will be a relatively "simple" process.

I need to have a minimum dollar amount to process an order and if the customer does not reach this minimum I need to have a message displayed that reads, "You Need to have XX$ to complete your order....." Once the order totals the minimum I establish it will go through.

How do I set this up?

I found a thread on a minumum order module however the link doesn't work...

Well, got the mod. It's here: http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showpost.php?p=197990&postcount=68

If you download this file onto a pc you have to append the .zip extension to it so that the system recognizes it.

Does anyone happen to know of a way that the minimum order mod could be applied to a discount group? Ideally, what I would like to do is set up the discount group with a minimum order for the first purchase only (for wholesalers), but just setting it up for a group would be sufficient. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
