whitespace between header logo & nav....

there is this annoying white space between my header logo and nav. (well, where the nav would be, but I didn't want it to show.)

It's been there as long as I can remember and I've tried everything to get rid of it. I've gone through posts of other people having the same sort of problem, but nothing works for me.

I can see with the dev tools that my image height is 110px and the height of the black bar is 21px, however the total height from top of the image to bottom of the black bar is 143px. I can't find what to change to fix this.

In your tpl_header.php file. Just after your taglineWrapper DIV and before your <!--eof-branding display--> comment is a <br class="clearBoth" /> tag. I recommend that you delete it.

I saw this suggestion in another post and tried deleting <br class="clearBoth" /> which appeared right above <!--eof-branding display--> and it deleted my entire page and gave me some error about unexpected something or other.

It is the solution. Try is again but be very careful not to accidentally delete anything else.

ok well after about the 10th try of deleting it.....it finally worked without giving me an error message.:D that was really strange

Strange. Glad you got there. You still have a couple of px left over in IE and might want to try the #navMainWrapper (margin-top:-2px} approach to squeeze that out as well. But the site's looking good overall.

ahhh! IE. I always forget to check things in that. So I will try what you suggested. Thanks for your help!

and actually....if you could tell me how I could make the breadcrumb links show up in that black bar, instead of where it does now, that would be awesome.
