Flat Rate and USPS Shipping Modules Conflict

Some of the products I sell ship via USPS by weight. Other products I sell ship via a flat rate. My problem is this. When both the Flat Rate and USPS shipping modules are enabled, both these options show up as a shipping option in the shopping cart. I need to set up my products so some only show the USPS variable weight shipping, and others only show the Flat Rate shipping.

How can I associate a different shipping method for each product? Any help would be appreciated.

I'll just have to make due with a single shipping option.

Normally, the items that are shipped flat rate have a unique feature about them i.e. less than ?2lbs? and others are over 2lbs and if this is the case or you can segragate these items on some shipping indice, then you can config the mods to handle this. Sometimes leaving the flat rete out, and creating either by weight or by price/value breaks.
