Adding Currency abbreviation to checkout_shipping

Hi all,

I've searched and couldn't find a sniff of info on this topic. Hopefully it's a quick fix.

For Internet secure to approve my site, they say i must add the 4 Credit Card logo images (VISA, MC, AMEX, AND DISCOVER) and "The currency of the transaction is listed on the order form."

An example would be USD for us dollars or CAD for Canadian.... I know i'm going to have to tweek the php code to do this, but i'm hoping that someone wouldn't mind telling me how to do so and even better, maybe i can tweek these things in the admin pages somewhere?

All help is appreciated! Thanks. will check back soon.

i am using zencart 1.3.1 i think, for those that are going to tell me to upgrade....

Re: Adding Currency abbreviation to checkout_shipping

Admin->Configuration->Credit Cards ... enable your cards, and change the "show on payment" option as desired.

Then upload the cc images they provide into your
/includes/templates/YOURTEMPLATE/images/icons folder.

(cc1.gif thru cc7.gif are the images to replace)

Re: Adding Currency abbreviation to checkout_shipping

Thanks Dr Byte.

You totally helped me on the Credit Card images. Can you assist me on adding the abbreviations to the totals?

for instance, if i sell something for $18.50, one doesn't know if it's US or Canadian funds. I'd like to put USD or CAD beside the ($18.50 CAD) based on what the user chose in the Currency dropdown. IN essence i want to make it so that the user sees how much and of what type of currency they are spending.

Internet secure will not allow us to use them if I don't have this Information, so i am pleading for any assistance. How did others get around this? I can't be the first to have to do this can i?

thanks again and any help is appreciated please!

Re: Adding Currency abbreviation to checkout_shipping

The fastest way to do this would be to edit your currency settings, and add a suffix.

ie: for USD, add a suffix that says: ' USD' (without quotes).
(the   is just a "space")

... and do similarly for each currency.

This way, every price in your store will show the currency code on it, including checkout.

Re: Adding Currency abbreviation to checkout_shipping

Thanks doc.

I will try that.

This will not "mess up" or create errors with the addition or anything would it?

I'll give it a shot and report back.

Re: Adding Currency abbreviation to checkout_shipping

The symbol settings are not used in calculation, so shouldn't have any impact on the bottom line.
